Yes. Skillz Arena is free to download, and you can play for free anytime using Gemz, Arena's free-play virtual currency. Gemz let you enjoy real, skill-based competition at no cost, and you earn more through daily claims, gameplay, and special events. Gemz are not redeemable for cash.
If you'd like to play for real money, Arena also offers Cash games. These require a real-money entry fee (starting around $0.60), and winners receive real Cash in their wallet. You can switch between free (Gemz) and Cash modes right from the game lobby.
Whichever mode you choose, every Arena match is skill-based: you and your opponent play under identical conditions, and the higher score wins.
