To maintain compliance with regional regulations, we require players to enable location services on their devices before participating in cash-based games. This helps us verify your geographic location and ensure that cash-based gameplay is available in your region. Without verifying your location, we cannot allow you to enter cash games.
How to Enable Location Services on Android and iOS
If you’re experiencing issues accessing cash-based games, it may be due to your location services being disabled. Below are steps to enable and troubleshoot location services for both Android and iOS devices.
For Android:
- Open the Settings app on your device.
- Scroll down and tap on Location.
- Ensure that Location is turned on. If not, toggle the switch to enable it.
- Choose Mode (or Location Mode) and select High Accuracy for better location precision.
- Restart your device and reopen the game application.
For iOS:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and tap on Privacy & Security.
- Select Location Services and make sure it is toggled on.
- Scroll down to find the games application in the list, tap it, and select While Using the App.
- Restart your device and reopen the game.
If location services are enabled but you’re still facing issues, resetting location services can resolve the problem:
For Android:
- Go to Settings > Apps > "Game Name".
- Tap Permissions and ensure Location is set to "Allow".
- Clear the app's cache under Storage.
- Restart your device.
For iOS:
- Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Location & Privacy.
- Confirm the reset, and then go back to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services to re-enable location for the game application.
VPN Use and Geolocation Altering Apps
Skillz does not permit the use of VPNs or any services that may alter or obscure your true geographic location. If our system detects the presence of a VPN or other geolocation-altering apps, you will be unable to participate in cash-based games.
To resume gameplay, please remove any VPN applications or services, disable them, and ensure that your device is connected to a local, trusted network. Only then will you be able to access cash-based games again.
